Privacy Policy

UsefulCrate ("we", "us", "the site") provides a collection of browser-based tools. This policy explains what data is and is not handled when you use them. It is written to be read, not to be skimmed past.

1. The short version

• Your files are never uploaded. Every tool on this site runs inside your own browser. When you drop an image into the compressor, that image is read by your browser and never transmitted anywhere.
• We do not have accounts, logins, or a user database. There is nothing to sign up for and no profile to build.
• We do not sell your data. We have none to sell.
• We do serve advertising, and advertising involves cookies. Section 4 explains exactly how.

2. What we do not collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:

• The contents of any file you process with our tools.
• The contents of any text you paste into our tools.
• Passwords generated by the password generator — these are created with your browser's cryptographic random number generator and are never sent to us or stored anywhere.
• Hashes computed by the hash generator.
• Names, email addresses, or any other identifiers, unless you choose to email us (see Section 7).

Because file processing happens locally, there is technically nothing for us to collect. If you would like to verify this, you can open your browser's developer tools, switch to the Network tab, and use any tool on this site — you will see no request carrying your file.

3. Automatically collected technical information

Like most websites, our hosting provider and our advertising partners may automatically log standard technical information when you visit a page. This typically includes your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, the pages you view, and the date and time of your visit. This information is used for security, abuse prevention, aggregate traffic statistics, and advertising. It is not linked by us to any individual identity.

4. Cookies and advertising

This site is supported by advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and/or other websites.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• You may also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at aboutads.info or youronlinechoices.eu (EU visitors).
• For more information about how Google uses data when you use partner sites, see Google's partner sites notice.

Some visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland are shown a consent message before advertising cookies are set, in line with the applicable regulations.

You can block or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Blocking advertising cookies does not affect the tools in any way — they will keep working exactly the same.

5. Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views and to see which tools people find useful. It is built to work without cookies: it sets no cookies, does not fingerprint your device, does not follow you to other websites, and does not build a profile of you. The reports we see are aggregate numbers — page views, referring sites, country and browser type — not a list of individual visitors.

Because it stores nothing on your device and collects no personal data, this analytics does not require a consent banner in the European Economic Area. The data is held by Cloudflare under its own privacy policy, and it is never combined with file contents, because we never receive file contents in the first place.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under the GDPR, the UK GDPR, the CCPA/CPRA, or similar legislation — including the right to access, correct, or delete personal data held about you, and the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information. We do not sell personal information.

Because we do not operate accounts and do not store user content, we generally hold no personal data about you beyond the technical logs described in Section 3, which are held by our hosting and advertising providers under their own policies. If you wish to exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 7 and we will help where we can.

8. Children's privacy

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us and we will delete it.

9. Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the "last updated" date at the top of this page will change with it. Material changes will be noted on the site. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
